Janmashtami - Aniversário de Krishna

Janmashtami is the joyful celebration of Lord Krishna's birth. Major celebrations of Krishna Janmashtami takes place at midnight as Krishna is said to have made his divine appearance in that hour. Fasting, bhajans, pujas and many other rituals mark Janmashtami celebrations in India.

Krishna (कृष्ण in Devanagari, kṛṣṇa in IAST, pronounced [ˈkr̩ʂɳə] in classical Sanskrit) is a deity worshiped across many traditions of Hinduism. Krishna is perceived differently within different traditions of Hinduism. While all Vaishnava groups recognize him as an avatar of Vishnu, some consider him to be svayam bhagavan, or the original form of the Lord.

Krishna is often depicted as a baby, as a young boy playing a flute as in the Bhagavata Purana,^[1] or as a youthful prince giving direction and guidance as in the Bhagavad Gita.^[2]

The stories of Krishna appear across a broad spectrum of Hindu philosophical and theological traditions.^[3][4] Though they sometimes differ in details reflecting the concerns of a particular tradition, some core features are shared by all.^[5] These include a divine incarnation, a pastoral childhood and youth, and life as a heroic warrior and teacher.
